Led by Camp Director, Rick Hutchinson, or "Hutch" as he is known in the hockey world, our camps and consulting services bring decades of hockey program experience within the Anaheim Ducks organization directly to you. Hutch has been a key figure in shaping young talent and pioneering grassroots hockey start up programs for the past 25+ years. Now, he is bringing that expertise and offering specialized hockey camps services across Southern California and selected destination spots globally.
Rick Hutchinson, affectionately known in the hockey community as "Hutch," has been a cornerstone of youth and adult hockey development for almost three decades. With a profound passion for the sport and a dedication to nurturing young talent, Hutch has played a pivotal role in shaping the future of ice hockey in the country through CAHA & USA Hockey.
Contributions and Achievements
During his tenure at Anaheim Ducks/The Rinks, Hutch was instrumental in launching several key initiatives that have left a lasting impact on the sport:
- Grassroots Hockey Programs: Spearheaded the development of programs that introduce young players to hockey, focusing on skill development and love for the game.
- Mentorship: Guided countless youth players and coaches, providing mentorship, and coaching that helped them grow both on and off the ice.
- Lady Ducks: Co-founded the Lady Ducks program, promoting and supporting women's involvement in hockey.
- Hockey Camps: Played a crucial role in the establishment of this renowned summer camp, which has become a hallmark for hockey excellence.
- Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League: Served as the first coach for the founding team, setting a high standard for the league and its participants.
- USA Hockey Committee Member Grassroots Development: serves as chair to NHL Gold Standard for grassroots hockey development.
- Pacific District USA Hockey Committee Member
